11/14/2025 | Men's Basketball
OXFORD, Miss. – In the 703rd and final game in the C.M. "Tad" Smith Coliseum, the Ole Miss men's basketball team took down CSU Bakersfield 82-60 on Friday night in front of a capacity sellout crowd.
Ole Miss (4-0) struck first with an opening tip-in bucket from James Scott off the first of 20 offensive rebounds for the Rebels. Despite a strong start from the home team, CSU Bakersfield (2-2) managed to keep pace with Ole Miss. At the 8:42 mark, the visitor's Jessamy Ronald hit a mid-range jumper to cut the Rebels' lead to just three, 18-15.
Ole Miss responded with its first three-pointer of the game from Patton Pinkins to push the lead to six, 21-15.
The three sparked the tempo for the Rebels' offense for the rest of the first half as Ole Miss would head into the break with a 10-point lead, 38-28.
The Rebels never looked back in the second period. At the 17:22 minute mark, AJ Storr converted an and-one fastbreak layup, setting the score at 44-33 in favor of Ole Miss. The home team pushed their lead as high as 25 with 2:34 remaining, eventually winning by 22.
Three Rebels scored in double digits as Storr lead the way with 14 points, followed by Malik Dia and Ilias Kamardine each with 10.
Ole Miss dominated the glass, outrebounding the Roadrunners 43-34, while grabbing 20 on the offensive end, the most by a Chris Beard team during his tenure in Oxford.
Ole Miss returns to action in the SJB Pavilion on Tuesday, November 18 in a matchup against Austin Peay. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. on SEC Network+.
