No. 16 Women’s Golf in Fifth After 36 Holes at the Moon Golf Invitational

MELBOURNE, Fla. – The 16th-ranked Ole Miss women's golf team shot a 295 (+7) during Monday's second round of the Moon Golf Invitational and sits in fifth place headed into the final 18 holes, at Suntree Country Club, in Melbourne, Florida.
At 587 (+11) through the first two rounds, the Rebels lead six top-25 programs from the latest rankings from Scoreboard Powered By Clippd.
Caitlyn Macnab continues to lead the way for the Rebels after a 2-over, 74, on Monday put her tied for eighth individually at even par on the tourney. The senior from Johannesburg, South Africa, started her round with nine straight pars before making a birdie after the turn at No. 10. Macnab stumbled over the next eight holes with three bogeys, but maintains her spot in the top-10. She's looking for her third top-10 finish of the season.
Nicole Gal carded a 76 (+4) to take her two-day total to 146 (+2) as the junior from Oakville, Ontario, is currently tied for 15th. Gal was 4-over through her first nine holes, followed by another bogey on No. 14, but was able to end the day with a birdie to pull to 4-over on the day.
Kajsalotta Svarvar had the best round of the day for the Rebels, shooting even par on Monday and is in 35th place. The freshman bogeyed No. 1, but followed that up with a birdie on the par-5 No. 2. Svarvar got another stroke back at No. 9 with a birdie before making a bogey on No. 15 to come in at even for round two.
Filippa Sundquist improved on her first-day 76 to shoot 1-over during her second round of play. Sundquist moved up five spots on the individual leaderboard and heads into Tuesday's final round in 42nd place.
Sophie Linder, a sophomore from Carthage, Tennessee, shot a 76 (+4) and is tied for 81st at 14-over through 36 holes.
Ole Miss will wrap up the Moon Golf Invitational on Tuesday with a shotgun start beginning at 8 a.m. CT.
