OXFORD, Miss. – For the second consecutive season, the Ole Miss men's basketball team has posted a 20-win season, hitting that number with an 87-84 triumph over Oklahoma on Saturday in the SJB Pavilion. The Rebels (20-9, 9-7 SEC) shot over 50 percent from the field in the game and were led by senior Sean Pedulla, who dropped a game-best 26 points including the game-leading three with seconds remaining.

After a sluggish start for both teams offensively, Ole Miss found their groove shooting the basketball, jumping out to their first double-digit lead of the game at the 8:52 mark, leading 28-17. The Rebels shot the long ball well early, connecting on five of their first 10 three-point attempts.
Oklahoma (17-12, 4-12 SEC) would also live by the long ball in the first half, knocking down five triples. The Sooners would erase their double-digit deficit, taking a 38-37 lead with a minute left in the first half, before Ole Miss grabbed a late bucket as the period winded down to regain a 39-38 halftime lead. Sean Pedulla turned in a balanced first 20 minutes for the Rebels, leading the way with 10 points and three assists.

Ole Miss would find the juice midway through the second half, generating a 6-0 run over 1:09 of action. The run would force an Oklahoma timeout as Ole Miss would lead 56-51, with 12:47 to play. However, Oklahoma would fight back thanks to the hot shooting from Dayton Forsythe. The freshman guard scored 23 points on six-of-seven shooting over the final 20 minutes to put the Sooners up one with 2:43 to play.
Forsythe would put Oklahoma up two with a pair of free throws making it 82-80 Oklahoma with 1:12 to play.
Pedulla continued his dominant day, as he nailed the biggest shot of the game, sinking a three-pointer with 19 seconds left putting Ole Miss up 85-84.
Five Rebels scored in double figures, led by Pedulla's 26, 16 off the bench from Jaemyn Brakefield, 13 from Dre Davis, and 10 each from Malik Dia and Matthew Murrell.
The visitors were led by Forsythe's 25 points.
Ole Miss hosts one final home game of the 2024-25 season next, when they welcome No. 5 Tennessee to the SJB Pavilion for a Wednesday night primetime showdown at 8 p.m. and on ESPN2.
