Women’s Golf Trio Earns All-Conference Accolades

5/2/2025 | Women's Golf

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Three Ole Miss women's golfers earned Southeastern Conference postseason recognition, the conference office announced Friday.

As voted by the conference coaches, Caitlyn Macnab earned first team All-SEC honors, while Nicole Gal snagged a spot on the second team and Kajsalotta Svarvar was named to the SEC All-Freshman team. Gal was also selected to the SEC Community Service team.

Macnab leads the SEC with a stroke average of 70.00 and is currently ranked No. 22 in the Clippd Scoreboard individual rankings and No. 23 in the WAGR. She has shot below par in 19 of her 27 rounds (70 percent) and has tallied a school-record 14 rounds in the 60s this season.

Just last month, the Johannesburg, South Africa, native became the first Rebel in program history to win the individual title at the SEC Championship with a 54-hole total of 201 (-9). Macnab has finished in the top 20 in all nine tournaments this season, including four top-5 finishes.

Macnab earned second team all-conference honors last season and is a three-time All-American and four-time participant in the prestigious Augusta National Women's Amateur.  Macnab was recently named to the postseason watch list for the ANNIKA Award and has been selected to compete for Team International at the 2025 Arnold Palmer Cup.

Gal is currently shooting a season stroke average of 71.78 and is ranked No. 77 in the Clippd Scoreboard individual rankings. She placed in the top 20 in six tournaments this season, including an 18th place showing at 2025 SEC Championship. The junior has tallied 14 rounds of even or below par this season

The Oakville, Ontario, native earned her highest career finish earlier this spring at the Gators Invitational. She finished tied for third individually, shooting a 2-under, 208 at the annual event. Gal finished fourth at the Mary Fossum Invitational in the fall, firing a career-best 5-under, 211, helping the Rebels earn the team title.

Gal, a member of Ole Miss' Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), has helped with numerous community service events during her time in Oxford. She's volunteered for Feed the 'Sip, Reading with the Rebels and helped with Ole Miss' Adopt a Basket initiative, providing Thanksgiving baskets to families in need throughout the Lafayette-Oxford-University Community.

Svarvar has hit the ground running for the Rebels as a true freshman. The Halmstad, Sweden, native has competed in every event this season and has recorded a 72.30 scoring average. She has tallied five top-25 finishes this season and has registered 10 rounds of even or below par this season.

Svarvar shot a 65 on day two at the Illini Invitational to notch the lowest round score by a freshman in program history, eventually earning a seventh place individual finish in the event. Svarvar is 4-1 in match play this season, including a win over Auburn's Ana Davis, who is ranked No. 21 in the latest Clippd Scoreboard individual rankings.
