OXFORD, Miss. – The Ole Miss Soccer team dropped its match against No. 21 Georgia 1-4 Sunday afternoon at the Ole Miss Soccer Stadium.
Georgia struck first to make it 1-0 in the 19th minute and found their second goal in the 38th minute to go up 2-0.
After a lightning delay that postponed play for nearly two hours, the teams were able to begin second half action.
Tate Blincoe made a beautiful centering pass to a streaking Briana Rodriguez who was able to find the back of the net for her first collegiate goal. Ole Miss trailed Georgia 2-1 with 19 minutes to play.
The Bulldogs would answer with two more goals to stretch their lead to three.
Georgia held the advantage in shots, shots on goal and corners.
Ole Miss (4-3-1, 0-2-1 SEC) will head to No. 10 Arkansas (4-2-2, 2-0-0 SEC) next Friday. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. CT on SEC Network+.
