Women’s Tennis Continues to Shine on Day Two of ITA Milwaukee Tennis Classic

ELM GROVE, Wis. - Ole Miss women's tennis doubles pairs continue to cruise in the Milwaukee Tennis Classic.
Sophomore pairing of Brooklyn Olson and Alicé Soulie picked up another win on Friday morning. In their quarterfinals matchup against Allie Faulkner and Maria Luisa Oliveira, they won 6-3. They will advance to the semifinals of the Main Draw, where they will face off against Sofiia Paladi and Deborah Dominguez Collado from Lipscomb University.
After their exit from the Main Draw bracket on Thursday, Ole Miss' freshman pairing of Owen Wilkinson and Ichino Horikawa moved to the Consolation Bracket and defeated Marielou Baudouin and Audrey Smitek of Western Michigan, 6-1. They will continue to the semifinals of the Consolation Bracket, where they will face off against Lola Glantz and Frida Weijerman from Western Michigan.
In singles, Ichino Horikawa was able to pick up another win in the Main Draw, after she defeated Anali Kocevar of Minnesota, 6-2, 4-6, 10-7. It is Horikawa's second match in a row that she has won in a 10-point tiebreaker. She will move on to the round of 16, where she will play Sofiia Paladi from Lipscomb.
Olson continued to cruise in the Main Draw, as she defeated Lilly Cvanciger of Arkansas State 6-2, 6-2. She will move on to the round of 16 and take on Ece Gencer from Purdue.
After her first-round bye on Thursday, Soulie faced off against Anna Grigoreva of Arkansas State. She would secure the victory, 6-2, 6-4. She moves on to the round of 16 in the Main Draw, where she will face Martaa Chogsomjav of Kansas State.
Following Wilkinson's exit from the Main Draw, she lost against Francesca Miglio of UCF and, Baudouin Marielou in the Consolation Bracket.
