Rifle Extends Winning Streak to Four Matches

1/25/2026 | Rifle

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Gracie Dinh and Ole Miss rifle opened the spring season of 2026 on the highest note, besting Murray State 4746-4706, Saturday morning in Murray, Kentucky.

The Rebels (7-2) outscored the Buckeyes (3-7) in both smallbore and air rifle by significant margins. Ole Miss has fired at least a 2380 or better score in air rifle four times this season. Among head-to-head matches, the Rebels are rocking a four-match winning streak, which is Ole Miss' longest since 2022-23.

Audrey Gogniat led the way for the Rebels scoring an aggregate 1189. She swept the individual leaderboards in both events, a feat she's accomplished four times this season. Gracie Dinh and Jordan de Jesus earned the silver and bronze, respectively, in the individual aggregate leaderboard.

The match kicked off with smallbore, where Gogniat led the charge. She shot a match-best 592 in the event, which was tops by four points. She's fired at least a 590 score in smallbore five times this season, which is a team best.

Dinh was behind her with a 588 to earn the overall silver medal. For Dinh, she's fired under that mark only three times this season in eight appearances. Jordan de Jesus and Susan Carter rounded out the Rebels' smallbore score with 585 and 576 marks, respectively. De Jesus has finished in the top five of smallbore in the past three matches, and five times in total this season.

After an intermission, the match continued with air rifle.

Gogniat's momentum remained in the second event of the day. She was Ole Miss' first finisher in the event, totaling a 597. That score would earn her the gold medal in the event, finishing the day as the top overall shooter.

After missing three bullseyes in the first 10 shots, de Jesus turned her shooting around in dramatic fashion, securing 39 straight 10's. In that span, she had 43 centered shots. She finished the event with a 596 score and 52 centers.

Dinh had a strong middle portion of the event, which led to a 595 score. Dinh has finished with fewer than 595 points in air rifle only once this season, and it hasn't been since November. Regan Diamond rounded out Ole Miss' scoring with a 592, returning to the 590 plateau for the first time in the spring.

Up next, Ole Miss is back in Oxford for a tri-team tournament, hosting Navy and Georgia Southern on Jan. 31.
