BELLEAIR, Fla. – The No. 21 Ole Miss women's golf team is right in the mix after day one at the SEC Championship. The Rebels posted (277, -3) and sit tied for third just one stroke off the lead.

Mary Miller showed out in her championship debut with an opening round of 4-under 66. The sophomore went off at 8:20 a.m. CT and found red numbers early with a 1-under 34 on her front nine.

She would catch fire with the flat stick on her second nine, carding three birdies to shoot bogey-free 32 coming in. Miller is tied for the lead after 18 holes with Texas A&M's Vanessa Borovilos and Mississippi State's Avery Weed.

The Swedish duo of Kajsalotta Svarvar and Filippa Sundquist both turned in even par scores Friday at Pelican Golf Club. Sundquist, who was 1-over through 12, played her final six holes 1-under to get back to even. Svarvar tallied her team best 15th round of par or better as the duo sits T21 heading into round two.

Sophie Linder finished her day at 1-over-par and Matilda Björkman shot 3-over 73.

The Rebels ranked second in par-4 scoring and third in par-3 scoring on the day. Miller led all individuals in par-4 scoring, playing them a combined 4-under-par.

Second round action will continue Saturday morning at 7:00 a.m. CT.
