Men's Basketball Tour to Puerto Rico

8/3/2026 | Men's Basketball

Monday, Aug. 3 – It was a full day for the program. After breakfast, we headed to practice at the JUMP Sports Development Camp. After practice, the team was able to grab some lunch and head to the beach or pool to relax. In the afternoon, the Rebels' staff went on an Old San Juan Culture and Food Tour before volunteering at the Youth Clinic at La Perla.

That night, the staff prepared a scout for the team's first game against the Puerto Rican Select Team. The first contest for the 2026-27 Ole Miss men's basketball team is near!

Sunday, Aug. 2 – Travel day for the Rebels. The team got up and had breakfast before heading to the airport to catch their flight for Puerto Rico. It was a brisk 3-hour flight from Nashville to San Juan and the team got into the hotel at 6 p.m.

Once the team got settled, they all met for dinner with a welcome party from Complete Sports Management. Monday was going to be a full day of basketball and other activities, so the team quickly got to bed after the welcome gathering.

Monday, Aug. 1 – It was a beautiful evening when the team had dinner together at Hall's Chophouse in downtown Nashville. After dinner, head coach Chris Beard took the team to Bridgestone Arena to remind them that basketball season is only 95 days away and this week in San Juan is a culmination of multiple weeks of practice and workouts.

It was a great dinner with the team, and the welcoming service of Hall's Chophouse did not go unnoticed.

The Ole Miss men's basketball team will participate in the Arroyo Puerto Rico Classic this week in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The team will play a pair of games on Aug. 4 and 5 against two Puerto Rican Select Teams.

While also on the trip, the Rebels will participate in a youth clinic in La Perla and then take part in a food and culture tour of Old San Juan. The trip will be capped with a catamaran tour of Icacos Island.
