Softball 3-0 After Day One Of Rebel Fall Classic

OXFORD, Miss.-- The Ole Miss softball team was a perfect 3-0 Saturday in day one of the Rebel Softball Classic. The Rebels defeated Delta State, 1-0, Christian Brothers, 6-0 and West Alabama, 4-2.

In the opening game of the tournament, Holly Burris went 2-3 and scored the game-winning run in the seventh inning to push Ole Miss past DSU. The Rebels then crushed Christian Brothers behind Kristi DiMarco, who was 3-for-3 with a home run. In the final game of day one, Amanda Lehotak collected three hits, including a three-run homer, to help Ole Miss over UWA.

Delta State posted a 2-1 mark Saturday with an 11-3 win over Christian Brothers and a 6-2 victory against Mississippi University for Women. MUW was 1-1, defeating West Alabama, 14-6. UWA and Christian Brothers went 0-2.

The final day of the tournament begins at 9 a.m. Sunday with five more games. Ole Miss plays Delta State at 3 p.m. and MUW at 5 p.m.
