Rob Heuer joined Ole Miss Athletics as its Senior Associate AD for Compliance in April 2022. Heuer oversees the daily operations of the compliance office and is the primary compliance contact to the Southeastern Conference. He also directs the institution’s compliance policies and procedures manual while also coordinating Ole Miss’ campus positions on SEC and NCAA legislation. Additionally, Heuer oversees the Ole Miss Agent Certification program, waiver submissions, infraction reporting, and helps oversee the Ole Miss Next Level NIL program.

Prior, Heuer served as Assistant AD for Compliance at SMU beginning in 2013. In this role, Heuer served as Senior Compliance Administrator, where he developed and oversaw strategic planning while managing the day-to-day operations of the SMU compliance office. He also served as the day-to-day liaison for the American Athletic Conference, Governance & Legislation, Sport Psychologist, Sports Medicine, and co-presented the office’s quarterly report to the SMU President.

Heuer arrived at SMU from the University of Akron, where he served as the Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance and was a member of the department’s Senior Management Team. In that role, as Senior Compliance Administrator for the Zips, Heuer directed the compliance program for Akron’s 19 athletics programs. In addition to leading the department’s Academic Progress Rate (APR) efforts, Heuer served as the sport administrator for the swimming and diving program.

Prior to Akron, Heuer served as the Rules Education Coordinator for the University of Colorado-Boulder. During his time at CU, Heuer built a comprehensive rules education program for the Buffaloes. In addition to his compliance duties, Heuer was the administrator for the CU cheerleading, dance and mascot program. CU’s mascot “Chip” won two UCA National Championships during his oversight.

Before joining the Buffs, Heuer was the Assistant Compliance Director at Marshall University, where he oversaw all compliance-related issues for the Thundering Herd’s 13 Olympic sport programs. Heuer’s time in Huntington began as a compliance graduate assistant before assuming his full-time position and earning his Master of Science in sport administration from Marshall.

A native of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Heuer graduated with his Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in December 2005. He worked in various roles in the athletic department as an undergraduate student and was a four-year member of the Nebraska cheerleading team. He and his wife, Alicia, have been married since 2017 and are the proud parents of two daughters.

Heuer recently completed a term as a member of the NCAA Division I Interpretations Committee, deciding significant legislative outcomes within college athletics. He is a 2019 graduate of the Sport Management Institute and is a member of the National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC). Heuer has extensive NAAC committee service, serving on the organization’s Professional Development Committee since 2017 after eight years of service on the NAAC Convention Committee, including four years as chair.
