Austin Cox joined the Ole Miss men's basketball staff as Director of Basketball Operations in May of 2026, bringing extensive experience in college basketball operations and administration.

In Cox' role, he will manage the day-to-day operations of the program under head coach Chris Beard. His responsibilities include overseeing the operational infrastructure of the program, coordinating internal and external logistics, and supporting the continued growth of one of college basketball’s premier brands competing in the SEC.

Prior to Ole Miss, Cox joined the Bradley program in July 2025 as Director of Basketball Operations and was elevated in April 2026 to Director of Basketball Administration and Assistant General Manager. In his single season with Bradley, he helped the Braves win 21 regular-season games, finish second in the Missouri Valley Conference and earn a berth in the NIT.

Before Bradley, Cox spent three seasons at UTEP as Chief of Staff. During his tenure, the Miners won at least 18 games in two seasons and advanced to the 2024 Conference USA Championship game. In that role, he oversaw all facets of program operations, served as the primary liaison between Head Coach Joe Golding and athletic administration, and led the program’s NIL strategy and scheduling efforts.

Cox also spent the 2021-22 season at Stephen F. Austin, helping the Lumberjacks post a 22-0 regular-season record and claim a share of the WAC regular-season championship.

In 2019, Cox was named to the Front Office Sports Rising 25 list, which recognizes the top young up-and-coming professionals and rising stars in the sports business industry.

Cox also worked as an Enterprise Account Executive at Hudl, where he negotiated and managed six-figure partnerships with NCAA Division I athletic departments nationwide. Earlier in his career, Cox served as Chief of Staff to the Director of Athletics at Southern Miss Athletics, leading initiatives across external relations, donor engagement, and multiple coaching searches. He began his professional journey as the head student manager for Texas Tech Men’s Basketball under head coach, Tubby Smith.

Cox holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The University of Southern Mississippi and is currently pursuing an MBA with a Sport Security Management Certificate from Southern Mississippi.
