Jason Kros was named assistant coach of the Ole Miss men’s tennis team in 2025 and enters his first year with the Rebels.
"Jason is a proven workhorse dating back especially to his own college playing career and now into his coaching career," head coach Jake Jacoby said. "From being a walk-on his first year at Virginia Tech. to earning the National ITA Most Improved Senior Award in the entire country along with an individual NCAA Tournament Singles berth that year, his relentless pursuit of growth, improvement, and relationships are undoubted. It has translated into his coaching career by helping develop multiple NCAA Singles qualifiers in addition to the best team finish for Princeton in over 25 years with a second-round team NCAA appearance. All these result-based accolades aside, Jason is perfect to help build this culture of belief, growth, and accountability here at Ole Miss. I'm thrilled to have him on board!"
Kros joined the Rebels after spending four years on the coaching staff at Princeton. During his tenure, Kros helped the Tigers achieve NCAA appearances in 2022, 2024 and 2025, advancing to the second round during the 2024-25 season for the first time since 1996. The Fairfax, Virginia, native, coached many successful athletes, including All-American Paul Inchauspé. He also helped lead Top Nidunjianzan to the NCAA individual second round in 2024.
Prior to his time at Princeton, Kros served as an assistant coach at his alma mater Virginia Tech for two years. There he helped guide the team to a NCAA berth in 2021 following the unfinished season in 2020.
As a Hokie student-athlete, Kros left a legacy of excellence. In 2019 he was a recipient of the National ITA Most Improved Senior Award, reached the NCAA Singles Championship, recognized as the ITA Atlantic Region Senior of the Year and was named Second Team All-ACC. He also thrived in the classroom and was named to the ACC All-Academic Team in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
