Paris Buchanan has been a member of the Ole Miss athletics senior leadership team since 2020 and currently serves as Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing and Fan Experience. Buchanan directs the marketing strategy for all 18 Ole Miss Rebel sports and oversees the in-venue fan experience for all home athletics events.
Buchanan is the point of contact for football promotional efforts and coordinates all aspects of the department’s digital marketing and advertising strategy.
In back-to-back years of 2021 and 2022, he and his staff were recognized by the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators as a finalist for “Marketing Team of the Year”, which honors the nation's best marketing departments. 2021 marked the first time for Ole Miss to earn the award.
An adjunct professor in the School of Journalism and New Media, Buchanan acts as the faculty advisor for the Ole Miss Cardinal Club, the on-campus school spirit student committee. He currently serves on the brand management committee for the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA).
Since first working with the Ole Miss athletics department as student intern in 2009, Buchanan has risen through the ranks, serving as Assistant Director of Marketing and Associate Director before being promoted to department head. A native of Grenada, Mississippi, Buchanan received a bachelor’s degree in managerial finance from Ole Miss in 2011 and completed a master's degree in integrated marketing communications in 2014.
