Brett Lenaburg, MS, CSCS, SCCC, joined the Ole Miss Health and Sports Performance Staff in September 2017 and serves as Assistant Coordinator of Strength and Conditioning for Olympic Sports, overseeing soccer, men’s tennis and rifle.
Prior to working for the Rebels, Lenaburg previously spent four years as a Strength and Conditioning Coach at Rice University. He worked directly with the soccer and volleyball programs, as well as assisting all other Olympic sports.
He has also served as a Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Colorado Rockies and their minor league affiliate, the Asheville Tourists. Prior to his time with the Rockies, he played an integral role as Strength and Conditioning Coordinator for Scottsdale Community College baseball. He has also served as a Performance Coach at Triple Threat Performance working primarily with professional, collegiate and high school level athletes.
Lenaburg played football at Scottsdale Community College in Arizona, where he earned playing time at center, guard and special teams. After football, he transitioned to competing in powerlifting where he totaled elite, as well as set national records in the squat and bench for the junior age division in raw and multi-ply categories.
Lenaburg graduated with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology from Arizona State University in 2011. He received a master of science in intercollegiate athletic administration from California University of Pennsylvania in 2015. He is certified through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association and the National Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association.
He is married to the former Elyse Cavolo, and the couple have two daughters, Roma and Mila. They currently reside in Oxford.
