*Alabama tailback SHAUN ALEXANDER became just the second player in school history to rush for 3,000 career yards as he surpassed the 3,000-yard career rushing mark this afternoon against Ole Miss. He eclipsed the 3,00-yard mark with a six-yard run at the 12:24 mark of the third quarter. The only other player in school history to rush for more than 3,000 yards is the school's all-time rushing leader Bobby Humphrey (1985-88), who ran for 3,420 career yards.

*Alexander is also the 17th player in SEC history to rush for 3,000 career yards.

The 214 yards are the most by Alexander this season and also marks his third career 200-yard game at Alabama. Alexander has a school-record 291 rushing yards against LSU in 1996 and added 206 yards on the ground last year against Vanderbilt.

*The 214-yard game is the 8th highest single-game total in school history. Alexander has three career 200-yard games, one short of the school career record of four held by Humphrey.

*For his career, Alexander has 606 career rushing attempts for 3,116 yards and 35 TDs.

*Alexander is nine rushing attempts shy of the all-time record at Alabama of 615 career-rushing attempts held by Bobby Humphrey. He trails Humphrey by 304 yards for the all-time rushing yardage record at the Capstone.

*Alexander has rushed for 100 yards in all six games this season, tying the school record for most consecutive 100-yard games. Ricky Moore also had six straight 100 yard games during the 1983, which included a 100-yard effort against SMU in the Sun Bowl. Alexander is the first player in school history to rush for 100 yards in six consecutive regular-season games.

*In addition it was Alexander's 14th career 100-yard rushing game, leaving him one shy of the career school record of 15 career 100-yard games held by Humphrey.

*Alexander has scored at least three touchdowns in every game this season for the Crimson Tide with the exception of Arkansas. In his last two games against Florida and Ole Miss, Alexander had seven touchdowns.

*With a one-yard touchdown run with 2:11 left in the first quarter, Shaun Alexander became the school's all-time touchdown leader with his 41st career touchdown for the Tide. The previous record was 40 career touchdowns held by Bobby Humphrey (1985-88).

*Alexander now has 43 career TDs at Alabama, including 35 rushing, seven receiving and one return.

*Alexander is fifth in SEC history with 43 career TDs, moving ahead of LSU's Charles Alexander (1975-78) on the all-time list. Alexander is also two TDs shy of tying Auburn's Bo Jackson (1982-85) for fourth place all-time with 45 career TDs.

He tied the record with a one-yard run at the 1:23 mark of the second quarter.
