OXFORD, Miss.--Despite holding nationally ranked Arkansas to under its conference averages in kills, assists and blocks, the Ole Miss Lady Rebels could not capitalize and fell 3-0 to the Lady Razorbacks at home Friday night.

The Lady Rebels (9-12, 0-8 SEC) failed to hit in positive figures for the first two games and only managed to hit .019 for the match, while Arkansas (17-4, 7-1 SEC) averaged .344 for the match.

Ole Miss held its own in the first half of game one, coming back from 3-0 to tie the game at 4-4, before Arkansas scored seven unanswered points to take the 11-4 lead. Ole Miss could come no closer than 11-5 before the Lady Razorbacks put the first game away 15-5.

In game two, Arkansas stormed out to a 12-0 lead before Ole Miss scored its only point of the second game in a 15-1 loss. Ole Miss could manage only eight kills to its nine errors on 28 swings.

The Lady Rebels fired back in the third game, scoring the first point of the game and coming back from a 5-2 deficit to take an 8-6 lead, but Ole Miss could not hold on. The Lady Rebels failed to score again, as the Lady Razorbacks took the game and the match 15-8.

Junior Kira Zschau led Ole Miss in with 10 kills and seven digs. She was the only Lady Rebel with double digit kill numbers. Sophomore Abby Hollander was the only Lady Rebel without a hitting error, going two for three from the court.

Ole Miss will now play LSU on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Women's Sports Complex in Oxford. The Lady Rebels are 7-30 lifetime against the Lady Tigers, in a rivalry that dates back to 1977. The Lady Rebels picked up one of their two Southeaster Conference wins last season against the Lady Tigers in a 3-2 match in Oxford. Ole Miss hopes to duplicate that feat on Sunday, as they still look for their first SEC win on 1999.
