OLE MISS TIPS OFF 25TH SEASON ... The 1999-2000 season marks the 25th anniversary of women?s basketball at Ole Miss. In the last 24 years, the Lady Rebels have accumulated more than 500 wins, 23 winning seasons, been to 14 NCAA Tournaments, and advanced to the Elite Eight four times and the Sweet Sixteen seven times.

LADY REBELS TO FACE ANOTHER TIGER ... Ole Miss travels to Clemson, S.C., Monday, to take on the Clemson Lady Tigers in a 8:05 p.m. (EST) game at Littlejohn Coliseum. The Lady Rebels are coming off a season-opening 70-51 win over Memphis at home, Friday. Clemson defeated Massachussetts 67-52 in its season-opener, Friday.

OLE MISS GAMES CAN BE HEARD ON WQLJ ... All Ole Miss Lady Rebel games -- home and away -- can be heard on the radio on WQLJ 93.7 FM, with each broadcast beginning 15 minutes prior to tip-off. Gary Darby returns for his eighth season as the ?Voice of the Lady Rebels.? The broadcast is also available on the internet at www.WQLJ.com.

SCOUTING CLEMSON ... Clemson comes into the game with a 1-0 record after defeating UMASS 67-52, Friday. It was the season opener for the Lady Tigers. Four players scored in double figures, led by forwards Nuria Forns and Datishella Byrd, who scored 15 points each. Forns had a double-double with 10 boards, while Erin Batth, the Lady Tigers only returning starter, finished with 11 points and 10 boards. The Lady Tigers won, despite being outrebounded 47-37 by UMASS. Clemson won a school-record 26 games last year, advanced to the ACC Tournament Championship game for the fourth year in a row, and reached the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. Last year?s top four leading scorers are gone to graduation, but seven letterwinners return.

SERIES VERSUS CLEMSON ... This will be the second meeting between the two schools. Clemson won the first meeting, a 76-54 win in Oxford last year. Please see a recap of that game on page 4.

OLE MISS VERSUS THE ACC ... The Lady Rebels have a 4-5 record (.444 winning percentage) versus schools from the Atlantic Coast Conference. Ole Miss is 3-2 against Florida State, 0-1 versus North Carolina, 1-1 against North Carolina State and 0-1 versus Clemson.

SEASON OPENERS ... The Lady Rebels have compiled an impressive record in season openers in the history of the program. With their win over Memphis Friday, the Lady Rebels improved to 22-4 in season opening games

HOME OPENERS ... The Lady Rebels are near perfect in home openers in their history. With their win over Memphis, the Lady Rebels improved to 24-2 in home openers. In addition, when the season opener is also the home opener, the Lady Rebels are now 12-1.

HOME SWEET HOME ... Ole Miss closed out another successful campaign in Tad Smith Coliseum last year. With an 86-77 win over Auburn, the Lady Rebels finished with a 10-3 record at home. Ole Miss owns an impressive 270-48 record (.849) winning percentage) at home and has never had a losing record in Tad Smith Coliseum. The Lady Rebels have gone undefeated at home four times.

ROAD OPENERS ... The Lady Rebels are impressive in road openers owning an all-time record of 19-5 record. The Lady Rebels have won 11 of their last 12 road openers since the 1985-86 season. Their lone loss in that stretch was an 88-86 setback to Middle Tennessee during the 1995-96 season. Last year, they defeated Memphis 70-68 in their first road game.

BOYD DO WE LIKE THIS ... With the loss of three seniors including All-SEC honoree Tarsha Bethley, the coaches were counting on senior Frankie Boyd to step up and be one of the leaders on and off the floor. All indications are that Boyd can have a great year. She was the leading scorer in both exhibition games and scored 22 points and pulled down nine rebounds to lead the Lady Rebels past Memphis. She finished two points and two rebounds shy of career highs in both categories and hit a career high 10 field goals on the night. Boyd has now posted 12 double-digit games in her career.

NEWCOMERS SEE ACTION IN FIRST GAME ... Several Lady Rebels saw action in their first collegiate regular season game. Freshmen Shayla Day (New Madrid, Mo.) played seven minutes, while Leah Henley (Warren, Ark.) and Kayla Madewell (Farmington, Ark.) each played six minutes.

IT?S CHICKEN FOR EVERYONE ... Fans love it when Ole Miss holds an opponent to under 60 points because that means chicken for everyone. If the Lady Rebels hold an opponent to under 60 points or score a 100 points, fans receive a coupon for half off a 5-piece chicken dinner at Abner?s. The Lady Rebels allowed Memphis only 50 points in their season opener, sending fans home happy.

NINE LETTERWINNERS RETURN ... Nine letterwinners return from last year?s postseason squad including three starters, that combined for 73 starts. In addition to Becky Myatt, the team?s second leading scorer last year, Ole Miss returns senior center Frankie Boyd and sophomore point guard Takela Corbitt. Also back are seniors Sinissia Wysinger and Tanya Bolden, juniors Chandra Dorsey, Stephanie Murphy and Heather Bantz and sophomore TaShondrea Moton.

SEVEN NEWCOMERS JOIN THE TEAM ... Seven newcomers joined the team this fall including junior college transfers Latasha Moore of Irving, Texas and Von-Gretchen Kirk of Huntsville, Ala. Moore earned first team All-Region honors at Howard Junior College in Texas, while averaging 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 2.3 steals per game. Kirk led Trinity Valley Community College to the JUCO National Championship and was rated one of the Top 25 JUCO players in the nation. Joining them are freshmen Latasha Harris (Texarkana, Ark.), Shayla Day (New Madrid, Mo.), Leah Henley (Warren, Ark.) and Kayla Madewell (Farmington, Ark.). Harris, a first team All-State selection, averaged 12.3 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. Day averaged a double-double and led her team to the Missouri Final Four. Madewell was named the Northwest Arkansas Times Player-of-the-Year and a second-team All-State selection. Henley averaged nearly 20 points a game. Also joining the team this year is walk-on Kesha Howell of Oxford and Northwest Junior College.

IMPRESSIVE OUTSIDE THE SEC ... The Lady Rebels have compiled an impressive record outside the Southeastern Conference in regular-season play in the decade of the 90s. Ole Miss owns a 113-26 record (.813 winning percentage) versus non-conference teams since the 1990-91 season. The Lady Rebels? best non-conference record of the decade came during the 1991-92 SEC Championship season, as they compiled a 15-1 mark versus non-conference foes. The Lady Rebels have an overall 66-20 record (.767 winning percentage) versus non-conference opponents on this year?s schedule.

IT KEEPS GOING AND GOING ... With five three-pointers in the Memphis game, Ole Miss has now hit a three-pointer in a school record 149 consecutive games. The record dates back to the 1993-94 campaign. The last time that the Lady Rebels did not hit a three-pointer in a game was on Feb. 23, 1994, in a 73-64 win over Mississippi State in Starkville.

STARTING AT GUARD ... With her start against Memphis, junior guard Becky Myatt made her 60th career start for the Lady Rebels. She has started 60 consecutive games since her freshman year. In addition, Myatt has led the team in minutes played each of the last two seasons.

HERE, THERE AND EVERYWHERE ... The Lady Rebels have made their presence known across the country visiting more than half the United States to play basketball. This year, the Lady Rebels will travel to Bozeman, Mt., to play in the Montana State Tournament then in December, they will visit Flagstaff, Ariz., for the Northern Arizona Classic.

LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION ... Ole Miss will appear on television three times this year. The Lady Rebels? game against South Carolina will be televised by FoxSportsNetSouth. This year College Sports Southeast will televise more than 60 men?s and women?s games throughout the state of Alabama and Mississippi. The Lady Rebels will appear on CSSE twice - Feb. 3 against Mississippi State and Feb. 20 against Auburn.

DRIBBLES ... The Lady Rebels will face 11 teams that went to postseason play, including nine NCAA Tournament teams...In the SEC rotation, the Lady Rebels will play Vanderbilt and Alabama twice in addition to Mississippi State...Junior Stephanie Murphy is serving as a student representative on the Ole Miss Athletic Committee...Happy November Birthdays to Tiffany Gray (4th), Latasha Harris (6th), Coach Ron Aldy (9th), Sinissia Wysinger (21st), Coach Katie Cochran (21st), Coach John Ishee (24th) and Stephanie Murphy (28th).
