Wade's World IX

Ole Miss offensive lineman Todd Wade gives you an in depth perspective of the view from the trenches all season long in Wade's World.

On the win against LSU and what it means to beat the Tigers three straight years:

"There's a lot tradition in the LSU game here, and it was the first time we've beaten them three straight years since the 1950s. Now, though, we're looking forward to playing Arkansas. They're a very talented team and (quarterback) Clint Stoerner has done good job for that team. By looking at them, it doesn't look that they've dropped off any from last year. It was kind of scary watching them play Saturday against Auburn, with all that rain it looked like the conditions when we played them last year. Rain or shine, we'll be ready for them this year. They're a talented team, but so are we, and we're as confident now as we've ever been."

Is there any motivation from last year's 34-0 defeat to Arkansas?

"Last year was embarrassing. Like I said, last year's (Arkansas) team was very good. I know they tied for the SEC West championship, but I think that one play at Tennessee (Clint Stoerner's fumble that helped rally Tennessee to the win) kept them from going all the way. If they beat Tennessee, I don't think they would have lost a game that season. It was definitely embarrassing last year because we were a better team than that, but if you turn the ball over in an environment like that, and not score when you have the opportunity, it's going to hurt your chances of winning. However, we'll be ready this year."

Do you view the Arkansas game as one with a win can help the Ole Miss program move to the next level?

"Last year when we lost to Arkansas we had the same record, 6-2. We lost that game and pretty much all heck broke loose and we lost our last three games. We don't plan on that happening this year, we plan on winning our last three."

On Joe Gunn and Deuce McAllister both rushing for 100 yards versus LSU:

"Joe's been doing that all season, and Deuce is now starting to show what he can do after being hurt all season. Either one of those two backs are great to have and block for. There's no other backfield I would rather have. They're hard workers, and they're good leaders as well."
