OXFORD, Miss. -- Kickoff for the November 20 game here between Ole Miss and Georgia has been moved from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., in order to accommodate a national telecast by ESPN2.
Georgia, which hosts Auburn on Saturday, is rated No. 14 by the Associated Press and No. 16 in the USA Today/ESPN poll, while Ole Miss, which is open this week, is ranked No. 18 by both polls.
It will mark the second straight game for Ole Miss to appear on ESPN2, which televised the Nov. 6 game with Arkansas, a 38-16 Rebel victory.
"We're excited about the opportunity to once again be on national television," said Ole Miss Athletic Director John Shafer. "The nation saw a truly outstanding Rebel performance in our last outing on ESPN2."
With ESPN2 set to air the Georgia game, Ole Miss is assured of having its final three regular season games on national TV. ESPN is set to carry the Ole Miss-Mississippi State "Egg Bowl" from Starkville on Thanksgiving night.
Counting the next two games, Ole Miss will have appeared on television six times during the 1999 season. CBS carried the Ole Miss-Alabama game on a national basis, while Jefferson-Pilot aired games with Vanderbilt and Auburn throughout the Southeast region. The Rebels have also had two other games televised on a pay-per-view basis, South Carolina and LSU.
