OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss Rebels went through two physical workouts in their second day of practice preparing for a Dec. 31, game against the Oklahoma Sooners in the Sanford Independence Bowl.
"We had two good workouts today. We got a lot of good work against each other," Ole Miss head coach David Cutcliffe said. "You can tell we are still a little rusty, but we showed improvement from yesterday."
The Rebels returned to practice on Wednesday after a 20 day layoff following the last regular season game against Mississippi State on Nov. 25.
"We got a lot taught today. We will spend more time in meetings tomorrow and will have only one practice and maybe lift weights in the morning," Cutcliffe said.
Ole Miss (7-4, 4-4) will take on the Sooners (7-4, 5-3) in the final collegiate football game of the century on Dec. 31, 1999, in Shreveport, La. The game will be televised nationally by ESPN and will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. CST.
