FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Arkansas' David Walling pitched a complete-game four-hitter, and Rodney Nye delivered a key two-RBI double in the seventh inning to lead the No. 9 nationally- ranked Razorbacks to a 7-4 Southeastern Conference baseball victory over No. 20 Ole Miss on Sunday.

Sunday's win completed Arkansas' three-game sweep of the Rebels. The Razorbacks improved their record to 35-18 overall and 20-7 in the SEC. Ole Miss fell to 30-23 overall and 15-12 in the league.

Walling (8-2) was the star for the Razorbacks on Sunday, going the distance and allowing four runs on only four hits while striking out 12 Rebel batters. Walling had only one walk in his complete game. Ole Miss freshman Nathan Lyons (4-2) went 6 1/3 innings and gave up seven runs (only three earned) on five hits. Lyons struck out four and walked four.

Arkansas got on the board first with two runs in the second. After Ryan Lundquist and Jack Welch each singled, the Razorbacks then put on the double steal. Ole Miss' Carl Lafferty tried to catch Lundquist at third, but his throw went into left field, allowing Lundquist to score and give Arkansas a 1-0 lead. Welch later scored on a groundout to increase the Razorback lead to 2-0. Arkansas added another run in the bottom of the third for a 3-0 advantage.

The Rebels cut the Arkansas lead to 3-1 in the top of the fourth, but the Razorbacks put together a four-run seventh to put the game out of reach. After Arkansas had scored two runs to make the score 5-1, Nye broke out of his 1-for-24 slump with a two-RBI double that plated Brad Hagedorn and Jeff Fletcher to give Arkansas a 7-1 lead.

Ole Miss cut the Arkansas advantage to only three runs at 7-4 in the top of the ninth on a Burney Hutchinson three-run homer, but the Rebel rally was stopped there. Brad Henderson and Alex Williamson scored on Hutchinson's home run.

Williamson led Ole Miss at the plate with a 2-for-2 performance. Henderson's 17-game hitting streak came to an end, as he went 0-for-3 on the day.

The Rebels return to action next weekend (May 14-16) when they host rival Mississippi State in a three-game series at Oxford-University Stadium/Swayze Field. Game times are 7:00 p.m. on Friday, 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.
