Florida Downs Ole Miss in Volleyball

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The eighth-ranked Florida Gators knocked off the Ole Miss volleyball team 15-2, 15-6, 15-8 Friday in Southeastern Conference action. Florida improved to 19-2 overall and 9-0 in the SEC, while Ole Miss dropped to 8-15 overall and 2-7 in the SEC.
Ole Miss was led by Kari Elggren with 12 kills and seven digs. Rebecca Rider also added seven digs.
Jenny Manz led Florida with 15 kills and 10 digs, followed by Heather Wright with 10 kills and eight digs.
"We had a 6-2 and 7-4 lead in the third, and we settled down and played okay then," Ole Miss head coach John Blair said. "Florida is eighth in the country, and they are very good. They are every bit deserving of their ranking."
Ole Miss travels to Stetson on Saturday to take on the Hatters at 6 p.m. Stetson is 8-11 overall and is coming off a 3-0 win over Belmont on Thursday.
