OXFORD, Miss. - Coach David Cutcliffe's Ole Miss Rebels returned to the practice field in shorts here Sunday afternoon, which was a make-up day after Saturday's scheduled practice was called off due to heavy rains in the Oxford area.
"I thought we got a lot of things done," Cutcliffe said. "The intensity from the start of practice carried over throughout the afternoon and we maintained our tempo."
While he voiced satisfaction with how the first two days of spring practice have gone, Cutcliffe did voice some concerns.
"There are so many things, executionwise, that we're not able to do." he added. "Also, we had Cory Peterson get a little banged up since he strained a hamstring. That concerns me. I'm anxious to see what the trainers and doctors have to say about how long Cory will be out."
Cutcliffe said he was looking forward to Tuesday's practice, which will be the first contact session of the spring.
"Football is not played in shorts," he said. "These first two practices are just a start. We'll know a whole lot more after the end of this week. We put on the pads Tuesday and I'm anxious to get that started."
