OXFORD, Miss. - Jeff Bourbon's one-out single in the seventh drove in the game's only run and gave Southeast Missouri State a 1-0 victory and two game series split with the Ole Miss Rebels. The Rebels dropped to 4-5 with the loss while S.E. Missouri improved to 2-3. The Indians' Lanson Debrock (1-0) pitched three innings in relief giving up one hit and striking out two to pick up his first victory of the season. The Rebels' Chad Mead (0-1) took the loss despite allowing one run on two hits and striking out four in six and one-third innings of work. In the second inning the Rebel's lead-off hitter Craig Nugen reached on an error by shortstop Steve Lowe and advanced to third on Jude Voltz's single to center. But Ole Miss was unable to move Nugen across as the Indians' starter Ryan Spille struck out J.T. Harrison and forced Carl Lafferty to hit into an inning ending double play.

Ole Miss threatened again in the eighth as pinch hitter Burney Hutchinson walked to lead off the inning. Hutchinson advanced to third after a sacrifice bunt and a single, but was thrown out at home after trying to advance on a fielder's choice by Justin Huisman.

The Rebels stranded seven runners for the game and were held to four hits after the fifth inning. Chad Hill and Husiman each had two hits for the Rebels and Brad Henderson doubled for the Rebels' only extra base hit of the day.

Ole Miss opens a three game home series with South Alabama on Friday, Feb. 26 at 3 p.m.
