OXFORD, Miss. - Kari Elggren recorded 22 kills and 14 digs, while Kira Zschau added 17 kills to lead the Ole Miss volleyball team past Alabama 15-10, 7-15, 15-7, 15-12 in Southeastern Conference action Friday. Ole Miss improved to 8-12 overall and 2-5 in the SEC, while Alabama dropped to 11-9 overall and 1-5 in the SEC.

Anna Hackbarth added 11 kills, a .529 hitting percentage and 12 digs for the Lady Rebels, and Lisa Frannino chipped in 12 digs. Lauren Dorcheus also had eight kills.

Alabama was led by Michelle Green with 16 kills and 16 digs, while Jen Wagner recorded 15 kills and nine digs. Monica Morales and Monica Davis each chipped in 11 digs.

"Winning is good," Ole Miss head coach John Blair said. "The team still had its moments where we played soft, but we were able to come back and finish. We made some great stands, and that made the difference. They made their minds up that they were going to win. Had we not been really determined to win, we would not have done so. Our players really stepped up."

Ole Miss returns to action Sunday at 2 p.m. as the Lady Rebels host Auburn. Auburn is 14-5 overall and 3-3 in the SEC and is coming off a five-game win at Mississippi State on Friday.
