Ole Miss Notes

- Todays attendance of 48,371 is a new Vaught-Hemingway Stadium/Hollingsworth Field record. The previous attendance record of 46,191 was set last Saturday in the Rebels 30-10 season-opening victory over Memphis.

- The last time the Rebels were shut out was in a 17-0 loss to Mississippi State on November 30, 1996. The game was also the last time that Ole Miss was shut out at home.

- The last time Ole Miss had less than 150 yards in total offense was a 107-yard performance against Memphis on November 5, 1993. The Tigers defeated Ole Miss, 19-3 in that game. In todays game, Ole Miss had 136 yards of total offense.

- Kendrick Clancy recovered his first career fumble as a Rebel. Clancy recovered a Jack Schwieger fumble in the third quarter.

- True freshman Syniker Taylor saw his first collegiate action in todays game. He suffered a knee injury in the preseason and missed last Saturdays Memphis game. Taylor finished the game with three total tackles.

- True freshman Eddie Strong recorded his second quarterback sack in as many games. He recorded a sack for a loss of six yards. He also had seven total tackles.

Auburn Notes

- The last time Auburn shut out an SEC opponent came in a 14-0 victory over Mississippi State in 1989.

- The last time Auburn shut out an SEC opponent on the road came in a 16-0 win at Florida in 1988.

- The last time Auburn shut out an opponent was against Fresno State on Sept. 7, 1996, when the Tigers won 62-0.

- Karsten Bailey's 28-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter marked his 11th career TD catch, tying for seventh with Alexander Wright (1986-89) and Tim Christian (1966-68) in the Auburn career touchdown records.

- With 67 receiving yards today, Karsten Bailey has totalled 1,617 yards during his career, moving him into sixth place on the all-time career chart. Bailey surpassed Byron Franklin (1977-80) who had 1,573 receiving yards during his career.

- Ben Leard threw his first career touchdown pass, completing a 28-yard pass to Karsten Bailey in the first quarter.

- Strong safety Rob Pate intercepted his first career pass in the first quarter. The pick eventually led to a 1-yard Heath Evans touchdown run.

- After going 60 minutes without a score in its first game, Auburn totalled 14 points in 9:41 today.

- Larry Casher totaled his third career interception, picking off Romaro Miller's pass and returning it 29 yards in the third quarter.

- Josh Weldon had his first career sack in the fourth quarter, tackling Romaro Miller for a 15-yard loss.

- Auburn only gave up only 136 yards total offense to Ole Miss which was the lowest total in a regular season game in the last two seasons. The opponent yardage low last season was set by South Carolina with 198 total yards.
