Rebel Baseball Team to Host Memphis

OXFORD, Miss.-- The Ole Miss Rebel baseball team will return to action Tuesday when they host the Memphis Tigers at Oxford-University Stadium/ Swayze Field beginning at 7:00 p.m.
The Rebels are 25-22 on the year after losing two of three in a weekend series to Alabama. The Tigers are 22-21 on the year after they swept Cincinnati in Conference USA action. This non-conference game will be the final one for the Rebels on the year.
The Rebels are led by Jason Huisman who has 19 home runs and 64 RBI's on the year.
This past weekend against Alabama, Huisman broke the single season RBI mark with a solo home run in the 7th inning of Saturday's game against the Crimson Tide. Junior Brad Henderson is also hitting .378 with 11 home runs while collecting 45 RBI's for the Rebels this year.
For the Tigers, Chris Becerra has led the team in both home runs with 15 and RBI's with 46. Becerra is also leading the team in slugging percentage with a .633 average. Cary Hiles leads the team in batting with a .324 average.
The two teams have split their season series 1-1. The two met last on Tuesday in Memphis. The Rebels hit six home runs including two grand slams to defeat the Tigers 20-4 last Tuesday. The Rebels first played Memphis in Millington, Tenn where they were defeated 4-1 by the Tigers at the Service Acadamies Spring Classic.
For the Rebels, sophomore Joey Cramblitt will take the mound in attempt to earn his ninth win of the season. Cramblitt is 8-2 on the year with a 4.13 ERA. His eight wins are the most for any Rebel pitcher since 1995 when Jamey Price won 11 games.
After the non-conference game against the Tigers, the Rebels will return to SEC action when they travel to Athens to face the Georgia Bulldogs in a three game weekend series.
