Rebel Golfers Tie for Fourth at Matlock Collegiate Classic

LAKELAND, Fla. - The Ole Miss men's golf team, led by Jon Bartlett's second-place finish, tied for fourth place at the Charley Matlock Collegiate Classic on Sunday with scores of 292-282-297--871 to capture its fifth top five finish of the year.
Bartlett, a junior from Ocala, Fla., recorded his first career top five finish as he fired a four-under par 72-67-73--212 and finished one stroke behind Jaco Rall of Columbus State, who shot a 69-67-75-- 211.
Haymes Snedeker, a senior from Nashville, Tenn., and Troy Muller, a sophomore from Braithwaite, La., tied for 22nd place with a 218. Snedeker had scores of 72-70-76--218, while Muller shot a 75-71-72--218.
Sophomore Phil Caravia of Belleville, Ill., tied for 57th place with a 73-76-79--228, and Peter Pugh, a senior from Grenada, Miss., tied for 69th with an 80-74-76--230.
Alabama won the tournament with a 277-292-297--866, followed by Georgia State with a 286- 287-296--869 and Richmond with a 290-287-293--870. Virginia Commonwealth tied for fourth place with Ole Miss by shooting a 284-286-301--871.
Ole Miss has finished in the top 10 in all six tournaments this year and will travel to Tallahassee, Fla., to compete in the Seminole Intercollegiate on Tuesday and Wednesday.
