Rebel Golfers to Participate in Seminole Intercollegiate

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss men's golf team, coming off a fourth-place finish at the Matlock Collegiate Classic over the weekend, travels to Tallahassee, Fla., to compete in the Seminole Intercollegiate at Golden Eagle Golf Course on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The tournament is hosted by Florida State. The field also includes Central Florida, College of Charleston, Florida A&M, Mississippi State, North Carolina, North Carolina State, North Florida, South Carolina, South Alabama, Southern Mississippi, Tennessee, Southeastern Louisiana and Wake Forest.
Ole Miss is led by Troy Muller, a sophomore from Braithwaite, La., with a 71.71 stroke average and one top five, two top 10 and four top 20 performances on the year. Haymes Snedeker, a senior from Nashville, Tenn., is second on the team with a 71.88 stroke average and one top five and three top 10 finishes this season. Muller and Snedeker both shot a 218 and tied for 22nd place at the Matlock Collegiate Classic over the weekend.
Jon Bartlett, a junior from Ocala, Fla., is third on the team with a 73.29 stroke average. Bartlett recorded his first career top five finish at the Matlock tournament, where he came in second with a 72-67-73--212. Bartlett also has one other top 20 finish this year, and his 67 at Matlock tied him with Muller and Snedeker for the lowest single-round score by a Rebel this year.
Phil Caravia, a sophomore from Belleville, Ill., and Chris Malloy, a junior from Broad Run, Va., will also compete for the Rebels at the Seminole Intercollegiate. Malloy is fourth on the team with a 74.27 stroke average, and Caravia is fifth with a 74.35.
Ole Miss has five top five and six top 10 finishes in six tournaments this year. The Rebels tied for fourth place at the Matlock tournament with a 292-282-297--871, the second-lowest three-round total for Ole Miss this season. The Rebels have a team stroke average of 290 on the year.
