Rebel Netters Hit the Road for Two SEC Matches

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss men's tennis team, fresh off a huge homestand, will hit the road for a pair of SEC matches Thursday and Saturday. On Thursday, the Rebels will meet Kentucky at 2:30 p.m., and then on Saturday they will face Vanderbilt at 10:00 a.m.
The Rebels (14-3, 6-1) are coming off back-to-back wins over 13th-ranked Georgia and 11th-ranked South Carolina last weekend. The Georgia win gave Ole Miss sole possession of first place in the SEC. The Rebels have won five in a row and seven of their last eight.
Sophomore James Shortall earned his 50th career victory with his straight-set win over South Carolina's Vladimir Pavicevic. He is currently 31-12 overall, 9-7 at the No. 1 position. Freshmen Martin Selin and Kristofer Stahlberg continue to dominate at the bottom half of the lineup. The two are a combined 22-3 at the No. 5 and 6 positions.
Kentucky enters the match with a 11-5 overall record, 4-2 in the SEC. They are coming off a 6-1 win over Auburn on Tuesday. The Wildcats are led by 33rd-ranked Carlos Drada, who is 6-6 at the No. 2 position. Ole Miss defeated Kentucky 4-3 last year in Oxford.
On Saturday, the Rebels will face a Vanderbilt team that is 10-7 overall, 3-3 in the SEC. The Commodores are led by Kyle Porter, who is ranked No. 73 in the nation with a 9-3 record at the top spot, while teaming with Eddie Coates at No. 1 doubles for a 10-2 record. The Rebels downed Vanderbilt 6-1 last year in Oxford.
