OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss dropped two-of-three to nationally-ranked Auburn this past weekend but the Rebels still stayed in the rankings, slipping six spots to No. 26 in the latest Collegiate Baseball Top 30 poll, released Monday.

Ole Miss, 26-19, will host Northeast Louisiana, 29-17, tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. in their final non-conference home game of 1999. The Rebels will then finish their non-conference schedule with a 6:30 p.m. game at Austin Peay, 23-18, Wednesday night.

Tuesday's game will be Ole Miss' second meeting of the year against the Indians, as will Wednesday's game with Governors. The Rebels rallied for three runs in the ninth inning to beat Northeast Louisiana 8-7 in Monroe, La., back on March 16. Ole Miss beat Austin Peay 8-5 in its season-opener on Feb. 16.

"I felt we played well this weekend at Auburn," said third-year head coach Pat Harrison. "We just didn't get some things go our way in those two, one-run losses. We had a great game with NE Louisiana the last time we played in Monroe, and I'd expect another close one tomorrow."

The Rebels dropped 5-4 and 9-8 contests to Auburn Friday and Saturday, respectively, before rebounding for a 13-2 win on Sunday to salvage the final game of the series. Ole Miss is currently tied with Auburn for third-place in the SEC Western Division at 13-8, a game behind co-leaders Alabama and Arkansas.

Ole Miss will host Alabama this weekend in a three-game series starting Friday.

Senior second baseman Brad Henderson carries a 10-game hitting streak in to Tuesday's game. The 10-game streak matches his season-high and is one shy of his career-long. Henderson is currently hitting .384 with six home runs and 33 RBI.

Freshman outfielder Burney Hutchinson has swung a hot bat of late, going 13-for-23 in his last 12 games with two home runs, nine RBI, five doubles and 11 runs scored. Hutchinson is hitting .405 with two home runs and 11 RBI in 25 games this season.

Junior first baseman Jude Voltz is coming off a solid weekend where he went 6-for-11 with a home run, four RBI and five runs scored.

The Rebels are scheduled to start sophomore right-hander Ronnie Goodwin, 2-4 with a 4.67 ERA. Goodwin is 2-1 with a 2.03 ERA in 26 2/3 innings over his last four appearances.

NE Louisiana is scheduled to counter with senior right-hander Brian Manwell, 0-0 with a 7.24 ERA. It will be Manwell's first start of the season.
