Rebels Travel to Auburn

OXFORD, Miss. -- The 20th-ranked Ole Miss baseball team travels to Auburn, Ala., to take on the eighth-ranked Tigers in an SEC Western division showdown this weekend.
The Rebels (25-17, 12-6) are coming off a 10-5 win over Memphis on Wednesday and a series win over the Georgia Bulldogs last weekend.
Ole Miss is led by senior Brad Henderson who is hitting .391 with 30 runs batted in, 18 doubles and five home runs. Henderson is hitting .480 against SEC opponents with eight doubles and 15 RBI.
Junior Michael Rosamond is hitting .385 in conference play and leads the Rebels with 15 home runs, 11 coming against SEC foes.
The Tigers (33-9, 11-7) enter the series ranked second in hitting in the SEC with a .346 average. Senior Casey Dunn leads the Tigers with a .409 average, 10 home runs and 61 RBI.
Auburn leads the all-time series against the Rebels with a 57-52-1 mark. The two teams split a weather-abbreviated series last season in Oxford.
The two teams last met in Auburn in 1997, with the Rebels taking two of three games from the Tigers.
The series opens on Friday at Plainsman Park with first pitch set for 6:30 p.m. Jeff McAvoy (6-3) will open the series on the mound for the Rebels, while the Tigers start Brent Schoening (10-0) in game one.
Game two of the series will be on Saturday at 5 p.m., with game three on Sunday at 1 p.m.
