Rebels in Sixth Place at Florida State Seminole Classic

March 11, 1998 TALLAHASSEE,Fla. -- The Ole Miss men's golf team is in sixth place after firing a 311 in the first round and a 298 in the second round of the Florida State Seminole Classic at the Golden Eagle Country Club on Tuesday.
North Carolina leads the tournament with a two-round score of 583. James Driscoll of Virginia and Nathan Bertsch are tied for the individual lead with a 143.
Senior Matt Armstrong of Paducah, Ky., coming off a third-place performance at the Matlock Collegiate Classic last weekend, is in 17th place with a 75-75--150. Right behind him is Lane Pippin, a junior from Ocean Springs, Miss., who is tied for 18th with a 77-74--151.
Haymes Snedeker, a junior from Nashville, Tenn., and senior Ben Dupont of Baton Rouge, La., are tied for the 28th spot with a 154 total score. Senior Peter Pugh of Grenada, Miss., shot an 82-78--160 to tie for 59th.
The Rebels, who have two top 10 finishes in both spring tournaments this season, will conclude the tournament Wednesday.
