Eberle and Chapman Earn Victories at SEC Tournament

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Mariana Eberle and Courtenay Chapman of the Ole Miss women's tennis team won their respective consolation brackets at the SEC Fall Coaches Championships Monday.

Eberle defeated Andrea Piski of Auburn 7-5, 5-7, 6-2 in the round one consolation bracket, while Chapman downed Baili Camino of Florida 6-4, 6-2 in the second round consolation bracket.

Chapman, after losing in the second round of the tournament, came back to beat two nationally-ranked opponents including Camino, who is ranked 56th in the nation, and Louise Ostling (Arkansas), who is ranked No. 72. Chapman, ranked 94th in the country, is 6-2 after this tournament.

After falling in the first round of Flight "A" singles, Eberle won four consecutive matches and only lost one set in any of those matches. Eberle is now 5-2 on the year.

The Lady Rebels had a successful overall tournament as Celeste Frey got to the finals of Flight "A" singles and Aleysa Ignatieva reached the finals of the Flight "B" division. In doubles, Frey and Eberle made the semifnals.
