Lady Rebel Golfers Finish 16th at NCAA East Regional

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Ole Miss senior Megan Breen shot a four-over par 76 to lead the Lady Rebel golf team in final-day action at the NCAA East Regional on Saturday. Breen was the Lady Rebels' highest finisher, placing in a tie for 27th with a three-round score of 75-76-76--227.
The Lady Rebels finished in 16th place with a score of 312-306-308--926. Georgia won the team competition at the NCAA East Regional with a score of 300-294-290--884. Georgia, Furman, LSU, Duke, Florida State, Ohio State, South Carolina and Auburn were the top eight teams, and all now advance to the NCAA Championships, which will be held May 19-22 in Tulsa, Okla.
Freshman Kim Tudor tied Breen for the team's lowest score in the third round, also carding a four- over par 76. Tudor placed in a tie for 89th with a score of 86-80-76--242. Junior Robyn Rinaldo finished the tournament tied for 33rd with a 77-74-77--228.
Sophomore Marci Kornegay placed in a tie for 77th with an 81-77-79--237, while sophomore Teresa Brown finished tied at 89th with Tudor. Brown carded a 79-79-84--242.
Furman's Jennifer Perri, Duke's Beth Bauer and South Florida's Kelly Lagedrost finished tied for first, each shooting a three-round total of one-under par 215.
