Lady Rebel Netter to Face Top 10 Opponents

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss women's tennis team is set to face two top 10 opponents this weekend on the road. On Friday they will meet seventh-ranked William & Mary at 1:30 p.m. and then on Sunday they will face eighth-ranked Vanderbilt at 11:00 a.m.

The Lady Rebels enter this weekend's matches with a 11-3 overall record, 4-1 in the SEC. They are coming off an 8-1 win over Mississippi State last Saturday. Ole Miss won five of the six singles matches and swept the doubles to improve to 36-4 all-time against the Lady Bulldogs.

William & Mary comes into the match with a 15-3 overall record. They are coming off a 6-1 win over No. 19 VCU Tuesday.

The Tribe are led by 40th-ranked Carlolijn van Rossum, who has a 15-6 overall record, 6-7 at the No. 1 position.

Ole Miss and William & Mary have played some close matches lately. Last year, the Lady Rebels rallied to win all three doubles matches to take a 5-4 win in Oxford.

On Sunday, the Lady Rebels will square off against Vanderbilt. The Commodores are currently 12-3 overall and 4-2 in the SEC. They are coming off a 5-1 win over Mississippi State last Sunday. Vanderbilt downed Ole Miss 8-1 last year in Oxford.
