Lady Rebel Netters Sweep Northeast Louisiana

OXFORD, Miss. -- The No. 9 nationally-ranked Ole Miss women's tennis team dominated Northeast Louisiana 9-0 at the Palmer-Salloum Tennis Center Saturday.
Third-ranked Agnes Muzamel came back from a 4-1 deficit to defeat Sandy Hole 7-5, 6-4 while 20th-ranked Ivona Mihailova downed Sahida Chadha 6-3, 6-1. Courtenay Chapman defeated Anna White 6-3, 6-0 and Martina Crha beat Marie-Claude Ostiguy 6-3, 6-0.
Mariana Eberle and Missy Brewer won their matches by default.
In doubles, Crha and Irena Mihailova defeated Hole and White 8-6 and Missy Brewer and Mariana Eberle downed Chadha and Ostiguy 8-4. Muzamel and Chapman won their match by default.
"We did a good job today of gaining our focus and being disciplined," Ole Miss head coach Jerry Montgomery said. "My team is very committed, makes lots of sacrifices and wants to win convincingly. Today we showed that we have the talent and maturity to have an excellent year. The key is that we do it one day at a time and have fun along the way."
Ole Miss is now 4-0 on the year and owns a 10-1 record at home the past two years.
Agnes Muzamel, Courtenay Chapman and Ivona Mihailova will compete at the Rolex National Indoor Championships in Dallas, Texas, Feb. 5-8. The Lady Rebels return to Oxford Feb. 13 to host South Alabama at 1:00 p.m.
