Lady Rebel Netters To Face Nation's Best

OXFORD, Miss. - The No. 6 nationally-ranked Ole Miss women's tennis team will face the nation's best teams this weekend at the USTA/ITA Women's National Team Indoor Championships in Madison, Wis.
This is the 12th year the tournament will be hosted by the University of Wisconsin's A.C. Nielsen Tennis Center. The USTA/ITA National Team Indoor brings together 16 of the best teams in college tennis. Participating in this year's tournament are (in order of national ranking) No. 1 Florida, No. 2 Duke, No. 3 Georgia, No. 5 Stanford, No. 6 Ole Miss, No. 8 UCLA, No. 9 Wake Forest, No. 10 William & Mary, No. 11 Vanderbilt, No. 13 Southern California, No. 14 Arkansas, No. 15 Pepperdine, No. 15 Notre Dame, No. 17 Kansas, No. 22 Miami and No. 29 Wisconsin.
Ole Miss will met Kansas in the first round at 9:00 a.m. Kansas comes into the tournament with a 1-2 overall record. They began the season with back-to-back losses to Duke and William & Mary. Their lone win came against BYU. The Jayhawks are led by Kris Sell, who owns a 18-7 record.
The Lady Rebels will be led by Agnes Muzamel, who is ranked fourth in the latest national rankings. She has a 13-4 overall record, 4-0 at the top spot. The Lady Rebels have won five consecutive matches by a score of 9-0 including a win over SMU last Friday. Ole Miss defeated Kansas two years ago at the USTA/ITA National Team Indoor, 7-0.
If the Lady Rebels win, they will meet the winner of the Georgia/UCLA match, Friday.
