Lady Rebel Netters to Host Arch-Rival Mississippi State

OXFORD, Miss. - The No. 9 nationally-ranked Ole Miss women's tennis team will host arch-rival Mississippi State Saturday at noon at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center. Incase of inclement weather the match will be played at the Women's Sports Complex.
The Lady Rebels come into the match with a 10-3 overall record, 3-1 in the SEC. They are coming off a 7-2 win over LSU Wednesday. The Lady Rebels won four of the six singles and then swept the doubles for the win. With the win, Ole Miss improved to 6-0 at home this year and 25-4 over the last two years.
Agnes Muzamel leads the Lady Rebels with a 9-3 record at No. 1 singles. She has lost the first set and come back to win the match four times this year including Wednesday's match agaisnt LSU's Ana Paula Mores. Muzamel is 8-2 in three-set matches this season. Junior Ivona Mihailova lost for the first time in dual match play, dropping a 6-4, 6-4 decision to LSU's Bruna Colosio.
Mississippi State enters the match ranked No. 42 in the nation with a 6-2 overall record, 2-2 in the SEC. They are coming off a 9-0 win over Middle Tennessee State on March 11. The Lady Bulldogs are led by Ivana Belancic, who is 18-10 overall and 3-4 at the No. 1 position.
Ole Miss defeated Mississippi State 9-0 last year in Starkville. The Lady Rebels own an impressive 35-4 overall mark against the Lady Bulldogs.
