Lady Rebel Netters to Host LSU

OXFORD, Miss. - The No. 9 nationally-ranked Ole Miss women's tennis team will host 43rd-ranked LSU Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center. Incase of inclement weather the match will be played at the Women's Sports Complex.
The Lady Rebels come into the match with a 9-3 overall record, 2-1 in the SEC. After opening the conference season with two wins over Kentucky and Arkansas, the Lady Rebels traveled to No. 3 Georgia and dropped a heartbreaking 5-4 decision. The match was all tied up at 4-4 with No. 2 doubles remaining, but the Georgia team of Jane Reid and Esther Knox defeated Ole Miss' Agnes Muzamel and Courtenay Chapman for the win.
Junior Ivona Mihailova, ranked 28th in the nation, continues to dominate this spring as she has not lost a match with a 12-0 record at No. 3 singles. Last week she defeated 36th-ranked Esther Knox.
LSU comes into the match with a 8-3 overall record, 1-2 in the SEC. They earned their first conference victory of the season on Sunday, defeating Alabama 8-1. The Lady Tigers have conference losses to Mississippi State (5-1) and Vanderbilt (6-2).
The Lady Tigers are led by Ana Paula Mores, who holds a 8-1 record at the top spot. She also teams with Bruna Colosio for a 5-0 record at No. 1 doubles. Ole Miss defeated LSU 5-4 last year in Baton Rouge. The last time the two teams played in Oxford, the Lady Rebels won 9-0.
LSU will be the Lady Rebels 12th nationally-ranked opponent of the season. Eight of the Lady Rebels' last 10 matches will be against nationally-ranked opponents. Ole Miss will host 42nd-ranked Mississippi State on Saturday at 12:00 p.m.
