Lady Rebel Netters Win at SEC Fall Coaches Championship

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Celeste Frey of the Ole Miss women's tennis team advanced to the third round in singles at the SEC Fall Coaches Championships Friday, while Ole Miss had two doubles teams move on to the second round.

Frey had little trouble in either match, allowing only six games total. In the first round she downed Andrea Piski of Auburn 6-2, 6-1 and then came back in the afternoon and dominated Mississippi State's Anca Vasiloaica 6-2, 6-1. Frey will face top-seeded Stephanie Nickitas of Florida in the round of 16 Saturday at 11:00 a.m.

Frey also teamed with Mariana Eberle to reach the second round in doubles as the two cruised to an 8-1 win over Kentucky's Brooke Skeen and Shannon Stafford. Ole Miss' other duo Courtenay Chapman and Eva Doman defeated Alison Ojeda and Candy Reid of Tennessee 8-4.

In Flight "B" singles, freshman Aleysa Ignatieva got to the semifinals. After a first-round bye, Ignatieva downed Summa Edwards of Auburn 6-1, 6-2. She will face Elmear Sloan of Mississippi State in the semifinals.
