Lady Rebel Volleyball Team Drops Season Opener at Tennessee-Martin

MARTIN, Tenn. - The Ole Miss volleyball team opened the 1998 season with a 15-8, 15- 8, 15-12 loss at Tennessee-Martin on Tuesday.

Lauren Dorcheus had nine kills and hit at a .474 percentage to lead Ole Miss, while Danielle Atzinger totaled a career-high 18 digs for the Lady Rebels. Lisa Frannino had eight kills and tied a career high with five service aces in the match.

Tennessee-Martin was led by Recquel Johnson with 15 kills and a .464 hitting percentage and by Jodie Hempen with 13 kills and 15 digs.

The Lady Rebels return home to host the Ole Miss Invitational this weekend. On Friday, Ole Miss plays Jacksonville State at 2 p.m. and Florida A&M at 7 p.m. The Lady Rebels conclude the tournament Saturday with a match against Rhode Island at 11 a.m.
