LSU Downs Ole Miss in Volleyball

OXFORD, Miss. - In Southeastern Conference volleyball action Friday night, LSU defeated Ole Miss 15-12, 15-13, 15-8 at the Women's Multi-Sport Complex in Oxford, Miss. LSU improved to 11-14 overall and 2-9 in the SEC, while Ole Miss dropped to 9-19 overall and 2-10 in the SEC.
Kari Elggren led Ole Miss with 14 kills and nine digs, followed by Lauren Dorcheus with 10 kills and eight digs. Rebecca Rider led the Lady Rebels in digs with 12, while Danielle Atzinger added nine.
LSU was led by Kelly Thompson with 14 kills, followed by Meghan Bedford with 12 and Meg Norwood with 11. Lauren O'Connor led the Tigers in digs with 12, and Lauren Cuyler added 11.
Ole Miss returns to action Saturday as the Lady Rebels host No. 14 Arkansas. The Lady 'Backs defeated Mississippi State 15-2, 16-14, 15-0 on Friday to improve to 21-3 overall and 11- 1 on the year.
