Memphis Downs Ole Miss Volleyball Team

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Despite 23 kills and 14 digs by Kari Elggren, the Ole Miss volleyball team dropped a five-game match at Memphis on Tuesday, 15-9, 7-15, 10-15, 15-10, 15-8. The Lady Rebels fell to 8-14 overall, while Memphis improved to 14-9.
Kira Zschau added 17 kills for the Lady Rebels, while Jaime Burns recorded 11 kills and 12 digs and Lauren Dorcheus chipped in 11 kills and nine digs. Lisa Frannino notched 24 digs, and Danielle Atzinger added 12. Leigh Rittiner led the Lady Rebels in blocks with five.
Memphis was led by Jessica Henry with 27 kills and 16 digs, followed by Ginger Garrett with 21 kills and 14 digs. Jessica Baley added 17 digs, and Rosie Glenn chipped in 15.
Ole Miss, 8-14 overall and 2-6 in the SEC, continues its six-game road trip this weekend when the Lady Rebels travel to Florida on Friday and to Stetson on Saturday. Florida is 17-2 and 8-0 in the SEC and is ranked eighth in the USA Today/AVCA Coaches Top 25 Poll. Stetson is 7- 11 overall and 1-3 in the Trans America Athletic Conference.
