Ole Miss Defeats TCU 7-2 at Wildcat Invitational

TUSCON, Ariz. The ninth-ranked Ole Miss women's tennis team defeated Texas Christian University 7-2 Saturday, at the Arizona Wildcat Invitational. The Lady Rebels (2-0) will play 23rd-ranked Arizona Sunday at 11:00 a.m., in the final round of competition.
Ole Miss won five of the six singles and two of three doubles in defeating the Horned Frogs. Third-ranked Agnes Muzamel cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 win over Annika Kjellgren at No. 1 singles. The junior from Budapest, Hungary has now won eight in a row dating back to last fall.
Ivona Mihailova, 20th-ranked dominated Natalie Balafoutis 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 singles, Martina Crha defeated DeeDee Herring 6-4, 6-2, and Mariana Eberle had no problems with Jessika Kjellgren, winning 6-2, 6-2. Missy Brewer came back from losing the first set to defeat Daria Zoldakova 5-7, 6-2, 6-3.
In doubles, Muzamel and Courtenay Chapman downed Kjelgren and Lucie Dvorakova 8-2 and Crha and Irena Mihailova defeated Balafoutis and Stacey Sabala 8-4 for the other doubles win.
Arizona defeated the University of Tulsa 7-2 in the other round robin match. The Lady Rebels and Arizona met in the NCAA Championships two years ago, with the Wildcats taking a 5-0 win.
