FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The Arkansas Lady Razorbacks scored the winning run on an error in the bottom of the eighth of game two to pull out a 3-2 victory and complete a doubleheader sweep of Ole Miss on Friday.
With the two wins, Arkansas improved to 40-27 overall and 15-13 in the Southeastern Conference. Ole Miss fell to 25-34 overall and 7-21 in the league.
The Lady Razorbacks trailed 2-0 in the second game, but rallied for a run in the bottom of the sixth and another run in the bottom of the seventh to send the contest into extra innings. In the eighth, Arkansas' Elizabeth Landgraf walked and advanced to third on Tiffany Woolley's single. Ole Miss' Rachel Davenport then dropped the ball in an attempt to tag Woolley at second base, which allowed Landgraf to score the winning run.
Mandy Shklar scored both runs for the Rebels. Shklar scored on Heather Swinney's single in the first inning and on Davenport's single in the fifth.
In game one, Jen Cirigliano cranked a three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth to break a 1-1 tie and give the Lady Razorbacks a 4-1 victory.
Kara Chapman scored the Rebels' lone run in the game, crossing the plate on a two-out single by Shklar in the fifth inning.
The two teams conclude the series with a doubleheader on Saturday, starting at 1:00 p.m.
