Ole Miss Volleyball Takes a Break from SEC

OXFORD, Miss.--The Ole Miss volleyball team takes a break from Southeastern Conference action Tuesday as the Lady Rebels host Louisiana Tech at 7 p.m.

Ole Miss, 7-11 overall and 1-5 in the SEC, is coming off its first SEC win of the year, a five-game victory at LSU on Sunday. Kari Elggren, a junior from Sandy, Utah, leads the Lady Rebels in kills with 247, followed by junior Lauren Dorcheus of Houston, Texas, with 151; sophomore Anna Hackbarth of Chaska, Minn., with 121; freshman Jaime Burns of Englewood, Colo., with 115; and sophomore Kira Zschau of Dunedin, Fla., with 113. Dorcheus is first on the team with a .292 hitting percentage.

Danielle Atzinger, a senior from Louisville, Ky., leads Ole Miss in digs with 176, followed by junior Lisa Frannino of Metairie, La., with 160; Elggren with 148; Burns with 107; and Dorcheus with 102. Dorcheus also leads the Lady Rebels in blocks with 68 total blocks, followed by Hackbarth with 49, Frannino with 43 and freshman Leigh Rittiner of New Orleans, La., with 42. Frannino also leads the team in assists with 598 and in service aces with 25.

Louisiana Tech is 5-14 overall and 3-3 in the Sun Belt Conference and is coming off wins over Florida International and Western Kentucky. Allison Walker leads the Lady Techsters with 215 kills, followed by Julie Mann with 199 kills. Lindsey Sheppard leads the team in digs with 213, followed by Kelli Jefferson with 138 and Walker and Mann with 134 each.

Ole Miss and Louisiana Tech have met six times with each team recording three wins.

Ole Miss lost at Louisiana Tech last year 3-2.
