Rebel Fastpitch Team Set to Take On the Community Saturday

Oxford, Miss. -- The Ole Miss fastpitch softball team will take members of the Oxford community Saturday, Oct. 11, starting at 6 p.m. at Stone Park.
Ole Miss head coach Joyce Maudie said this was a good chance for her Rebel squad to participate in some friendly competition while giving people in the community a chance to play fastpitch softball.
"The community games are really a fun event for our team," Maudie said. "It gives us a chance to meet people within the community and also allows us to market our team to people who normally don't know much about our game. It is a just an enjoyable event and a time of fellowship."
The Rebels are in the midst of their fall season and finished second last weekend at the Mississippi State Fall Fest in Starkville, Miss., after two wins with one loss at the tournament.
