OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss Rebel football team concluded two-a-days with two practices on Tuesday, concentrating on the passing game and the inside running game. The Rebels will take Wednesday off as classes begin at Ole Miss.
Tuberville said he was pleased overall with how far the team has come in two-a-days and is ready to start practicing for the first game.
"We made some progress and found out who may be our two deep," head coach Tommy Tuberville said. "We're going to give the players tomorrow off and come back Thursday and start working with less people. We'll concentrate more with the players that are going to play this year."
Freshman defensive back Syniker Taylor underwent successful scope surgery on his knee late Monday. Taylor, a Gulfport native, was diagnosed with a sprained knee last Friday.
The Rebels will begin one-a-day practices Thursday in preparation for the season opener against Memphis, Sept. 5 at 11:30 a.m. at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. The game will be televised by Jefferson-Pilot.
